H.E. Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister of Egypt, received   Sheikh Hamad Bin Talal Al-Thani, CEO of Qatari Diar, at the Cabinet headquarters in New Alamein City to discuss the latest progress on Alam Al Roum development project on the northwestern coast.

The meeting was attended by H.E. Eng. Randa El-Menshawy, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, Dr. Walid Abbas, Deputy Minister of Housing for Urban Communities, Eng. Khaled Siddiq, Assistant Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, and Eng. Mostafa Abdel Wahab, CEO of the General Authority for Tourism Development, along with a number of Qatari Diar officials.

During the meeting, Dr. Madbouly underscored the importance of Alam Al Roum project, noting that it represents a major investment partnership between Egypt and Qatari Diar aimed at creating a new development hub along the North Coast, featuring a diverse range of projects.

The Egyptian Prime Minister explained that the project forms part of the state's plans to optimise the use of coastal land by establishing planned tourism-oriented urban communities developed to modern standards and equipped to operate year-round.

The meeting also reviewed the proposed master plans for the project and its educational, healthcare, residential, hospitality, commercial and entertainment components, in addition to the range of services it will provide.

For his part,  Sheikh Hamad Bin Talal Al-Thani commended the development progress underway along Egypt's North Coast, saying: "At Qatari Diar, we aim to deliver Alam Al Roum project to the highest standards and in cooperation with leading global companies, creating a fully integrated, world-class city that operates year-round and is not limited to being a tourist resort. This is aligned with the Egyptian state's plans to achieve comprehensive development in this promising area."

Alam Al Roum spans approximately 4,900 feddans and features 7.2 kilometres of beachfront, with total investment estimated at approximately USD 29.7 billion. The project is moving forward to become a landmark in the development of the North Coast and an integrated urban and tourism destination that redefines tourism standards along the Mediterranean coast.
